TMMIN Earn the Awards, Again Indonesia Most Admired Companies 2016




Jakarta - PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) once again winning the award "Indonesia Most Admired Companies" from Warta Ekonomi magazine. The award that is given to companies with a good image among the public, was received by the Vice President Director of PT TMMIN Warih Andang Tjahjono from the Warta Ekonomi Magazine Founder Fadel Muhammad, who was accompanied by the Chief Editor of the Economic News, M. Iksan in the awarding ceremony awards night at the Pullman Hotel on May 19, 2016.

"We thank you for the 2nd award that we receive as Indonesia Most Admired Companies from Warta Ekonomi magazine. This award is an encouragement for us, Toyota Indonesia, to consistently support the development of the industry and make a real contribution to the Indonesian nation, as stated in the philosophy of "Toyota Sharing." We are committed to continue providing the best future," said Warih.

Since 2001, or for 15 years, Warta Ekonomi held the award for Indonesia Most Admired Companies (WIMACO). The award is given to companies that based on research who has the highest awareness and best image that perceived by respondents as a company that is coveted by the respondent. The assessment criteria specified by Warta Ekonomi including corporate image, public confidence that has been given , the investments made by the company, human resource management, and environmental concern. In addition, the ratings also include the company's ability to compete in the global market as well as business development in domestic and international markets.

In 2015, TMMIN recorded a positive growth in the export performance from the achievement in 2014. Total exports of complete vehicles (Complete Build-up Unit / CBU) models of Toyota reached 176.700 units, increase 10% over the previous year, so that the contribution to total exports of Complete vehicles from Indonesia raise to 88%. The Models of Toyota branded complete vehicles that exported is Kijang Innova, Fortuner, Vios, Yaris, Avanza, Rush, Agya, and Town Ace / Lite Ace.

In November 2015, Toyota launched the new All New Kijang Innova followed by the presence of the All New Fortuner in early 2016 with an investment of 4.9 trillion rupiah. Both products gained a positive response from the Indonesia people as well as foreign consumers. It has been noted, both models are donating portions of 48% of the total export performance of Toyota branded vehicles in April 2016 amounted to 16,800 units.

As a commitment to be part of the development on Indonesia's automotive industry, Toyota are investing worth 2.3 trillion rupiah for the construction of the new Toyota plant in Karawang which produces aluminum engine R-NR type petrol fuel passenger cars with a production capacity of 216,000 units per year that has jut been announced in March 2016 ago.


Depth of the Industry

Depth ratio of local content becoming one of the major concerns for TMMIN. Along with the business growth of Toyota, during the year 2015 the number of first-tier component suppliers involved in the production chain of TMMIN suppliers are increased from 107 companies to 123 companies. The launch of R-NR engine in early 2016 increase the number to 135 companies. Whether's All New Kijang Innova, All New Fortuner, as well as the new Toyota produced engine has a high level of local content, which is 85%, 75% and 80%. While other models are the Vios, Yaris, and Etios has a local content level of 60%.

Align with the philosophy of Toyota Indonesia "We Make People Before We Make Product," TMMIN develop and operate 3 TMMIN Learning Center (TLC) in the area of TMMIN production facilities. Aside from being the facility to enhance the capabilities of employees, TLC is also used by suppliers and educational institutions around the site. The series of human resource development efforts also implemented by the establishment of Toyota Indonesia Academy (TIA), which is located next to the Karawang Plant Engineering. The Academy is inviting graduates of vocational school that selected from across Indonesia to study the technology and automotive manufacturing character for one year at no charge. A total of 32 students will be the first prospective graduates of TIA at the end of the 2016.


Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Environmental sustainability is also important to be the main focus of Toyota Indonesia whose active in corporate social responsibility activities (CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility). At the beginning of the year, Toyota did the Toyota Forest activities such as mangrove planting on the North Coast Semarang. This activity is a series of objective for Toyota to plant 1.000.000 mangroves along the coast of Java until the end of 2016. In addition to the environment, Toyota also gave considerable attention in the field of education. One of them through the Toyota Eco Youth (TEY), an environmental improvement contest for high school students (SMA) and Vocational (SMK), which has been the age of one decade. Toyota also has a Toyota Astra Foundation (YTA), which provides scholarships for Indonesian students who excels. Educational help aid in the form of vehicles and complete machinery as the subject for students were also donated by Toyota Indonesia to various colleges and vocational schools in the country.
