Toyota Indonesia Support to Ministry of Industry on the Fight Against COVID

Jakarta – PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) offers our sympathy to any who have been affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus or COVID-19 and our condolences to those who lost their family. At the same time, we would like to express our sincere respect to the healthcare professionals and government officials who are working hard on the front lines.

In response to the call from Ministry of Industry that national industries participate in tackling COVID-19, as a part of Indonesia community, we feel much honored to be given an opportunity to participate in an initiative to realize local production of ventilator with local companies, academia and other stakeholders under Ministry of Industry’s guidance.

And in this very difficult times when Indonesian society is striving against the spread of COVID-19 and so many local Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are suffering from the impact of this pandemic, we are very grateful to fully support one of local SMEs who has a technical capability and good experience in manufacturing, so that they can engineer prototypes of ventilator, and produce them domestically in the future.

“We are not involved in the development or manufacturing of medical equipment such as ventilators. Our support is in speeding up the initiative through our knowledge and experience in efficient manufacturing,” said Director of Administration and External Affairs TMMIN Bob Azam. We will continuously make our best effort to empower local SMEs for strengthening Indonesia’s industrial base. (*)
