Toyota to Continue Suspension of Production Activities

Jakarta – PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) offers our sympathy to any who have been affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus (now called COVID-19 by the World Health Organization) and our condolences to those who lost their loved ones. At the same time, we would like to express our sincere respect to the healthcare professionals and government officials who are working hard on the front lines. Also we appreciate and support national and local authorities’ initiatives for tackling this issue including preparation and implementation of PSBB (Large-scale Social Restriction).

At Toyota, the safety and health of our employees and all of our stakeholders is paramount to us. With that in mind and under the guidance and support of the national and local authorities, we are making decisions and taking necessary actions quickly based on the government's instructions. We'll keep carefully monitoring situation and base our decisions on the guidance we receive from the government.

After continuous monitoring of comprehensive factors such as the need to protect our employees and stakeholders, the government’s efforts and directions to contain the virus, the current and anticipated demands in Indonesia and export markets, as well as parts supply situation, among others, we are extending the period of manufacturing operations suspension to April 20 – April 24, 2020.

“The safety and health of our employees and stakeholders is vital for us and we will always follow the directives of the government to suppress the spread of COVID-19. We have ensured sufficient supply to meet the needs of consumers in Indonesia and export, as part of our responsibilities as a production base for domestic and export,” said TMMIN Administration, Corporate, and External Affairs Director Bob Azam.

Per previous arrangement, as a part of TMMIN's responsibility to respect customer needs, some activities, such as export logistics, will continue under the supervision of strict social and health safety restrictions. TMMIN will ensure that all activities during the implementation of Large Scale Social Restriction will be in accordance with regulations and health protocol from the government.
