Jakarta — In line with Toyota Berbagi, today (23/6), Toyota Indonesia handed over donation to Pondok Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) which is one of the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia and an inseparable part of Indonesian society. This effort is a part of taking an active role in helping various communities in accelerating response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
We donated 1 unit of Kijang Innova Ambulance, 2.250 face mask, hand sanitizer, and staple package to Pondok Pesantren An Nawawi Tanara – Banten. In addition, as many as 2 units of the Kijang Innova Ambulance, 4,500 face masks, hand sanitizers and staple packages have been allocated to be delivered to other Islamic boarding schools in the near future.
This donation was handed over symbolically by the Director of Administration, Corporation, and External Affairs of PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) Bob Azam to the Head of An Nawawi Tanara Islamic Boarding School KH. Ahmad Syauqi. This donation is also a form of synergy and reflection of collaboration between every element of society including business community, in efforts to tackle COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
We also collaborate with other academics such as the University of Indonesia and Vocational Training Centers (BLK) such as the Jakarta Regional Job Training Center (PPKD), as well as several supply chain companies, in the development of various personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks, flocked swabs, medical google, hazmat suits, bag valve masks, and faces shield.
“We would like to express our sincere respect to Indonesian government and the healthcare professionals who are working hard on the front lines in against this pandemic. We also convey our deep sympathy to all parties affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. We hope that this donation especially the ambulance could support mobilize the handling and prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and other epidemics in Indonesia”, said Bob Azam.
Ambulance donation is part of a total of 17 Kijang Innova ambulance units that have been donated to various groups as a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities to face COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, we had handed over 12 units of the Kijang Innova Ambulance to the Indonesian Red Cross, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, DKI Jakarta Government, and Karawang Regency Government.
In addition, together with dealers, supply chains and affiliates, 108,000 PPE and 34,800 face masks were donated. Other assistance that has also been distributed includes packages of staples and the need to maintain personal hygiene to prevent transmission of COVID-19, such as hand sanitizers, cloth masks, antiseptic hand washing soaps, portable hand washing equipment and other needs to the community in surrounding environment and our dealers’ location throughout Indonesia.
